Gurgaon district is situated in NCR of Delhi, the capital of India. Gurgaon City is just 10 kms away from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.

The Gurgaon district derived its name from the name of Guru Dronacharya; the village was given as gurudakshina to him by his students; the Pandavas and hence it came to be known as Guru-gram, which in course of time got distorted to Gurgaon.

Not much to see here in terms of history. Sheesh Mahal in Farukhnagar, Gurgaon is a rectangular double-storey building and was built by Fauzdar Khan in AD 1733. It is so named because of the intricate mirror decorations within. The complex also houses a jail which was used as, well, a jail and a torture chamber.
